When I was younger I preferred to go to Paris for the weekend whilst doing my OE, now with the responsibility of family, the call of Masterton was answered. Needing a short and inexpensive break, my family decamped to Masterton and I was in for a treat.
Great cafes (Cecile cafe pictured here), gorgeous weather, a reputable museum, a lovely park and friendly locals make this an ideal holiday destination for Wellingtonians in need of a break.
