Wellington Supercity overwhelmingly rejected
In just released survey results today, Wellingtonians have overwhelmingly rejected the idea of a supercity.
The survey was commissioned by all Councils in the region with the exception of Greater Wellington Regional Council.
3330 people were surveyed with 58% of people saying that they wanted current arrangements to stay the same, 12% saying that they want 3 councils for the region, 9% saying two Councils (Wairarapa and Wellington), 9% wanting a supercity for the whole region with a few others expressing no view or just wanting a Wairarapa Council.
I hope that some who are promoting the supercity look very closely at these results.
