Do we need to sit down to eat as a family? Michael Pollan says yes

Great article in The Sunday Star Times today talking about the need to eat as a family (however you might understand the term) to inculcate children with the right values and manners.

As someone who is out at dinner time a number of times per week due to the nature of my job, it was a particuarly useful article and made a lot of sense. I tend sometimes to eat from the fridge or standing up because I'm busy which is not that conducive to family bonding.

For some families also, this would be a difficult standard to meet due to the nature of some jobs which demand anti-social hours, but the point is well made, sometimes the old ways are the best ways. Make time to eat, there's no rush.
