The Dominion Post reports today that Labour and National are thinking about moving out some government departments from Wellington.
We are all one country so need to think about the regions, but such a move would potentially undermine Wellington.
Relocating would cost millions, with technological advances, Wellington should be able to deliver services more and more efficiently. Also, regions shouldn't rely on government departments just like Wellington increasingly does not. There are better ways to boost the regions.
