Some interesting comments from S4 Solar about the role of regulation in terms of lifting the uptake of solar power.
Interested in this question in part at the moment as I'm renovating my house and looking at installing solar panels. The issue is in part the cost. At $10,700 with a payback period of 12-18 years, it is a high cost investment especially compared to buying good quality curtains and insulating walls. Should the city be pushing solar over other energy savers where owners (that's true for most of us) are weighing up costs?
