So who are we building all these Roads of National Significance projects for then? Given Wellington's superior provision of public transport, it is no surprise that the biggest number drops are in Wellington.
Politicians and transport planners argue that we need Transmission Gully, the flyover, duplicated tunnels at The Terrace and Mt Victoria to accommodate all future drivers but international and local research shows that younger drivers are driving less or not at all. So why are we continuing to build these roads?
