Another heritage building saved

Good news that the conversion of the old St James church in Newtown is going ahead and is expected to be completed in 18 months as reported in The Dominion Post today. The church will be converted into a number of apartments.

After the Presbyterian Church was forced to sell because of earthquake strengthening costs, it is heartening to know that the building can still be used for a very practical purpose. Looking forward to seeing the completed project.

  1. The church is a major feature on the skyline from my house. I'm thrilled that it's getting refurbished and reused.
