I do feel that this church should be saved for community purposes, the main issue will be how to pay for the building if the Presbyterian Church will not reconsider its decision to sell.
Seatoun as such does not have a community centre and this may be an ideal site (whilst still keeping it for religious purposes for those who wish it). I am aware however that there are other buildings which could be used.
Let's hope that there is a good process to decide what is needed. Meanwhile at Council we have more thinking to do on how to save historic churches that are earthquake prone.
